Reese Bourgeois, the Director of Flow Consulting gained his consulting roots back in 1992, when he initiated a team of lean manufacturing consultants to support the key suppliers of GE's Power Generation Business.
From that original team, Steve Wood and Chad Morrison are still working with Reese, as Flow Consulting continues to drive LeanSigma operational improvement.
Reese left GE to pursue his MBA at the University of Florida in 1994 and returned to consulting with Dove Associates of Boston, where he worked for Dick Jelinek.
Shan Starling, Reese's wife, had worked for Dove while Reese was with GE Aircraft from 1989 to 1991. While at Dove Associates, Reese added Steve Wood, Ric Schildwachter, Laura Colcord, Matt Stevens, and Tom Pavilon to the team, and expanded their tool set into leadership development, six sigma, project management, and chemical lean manufacturing.
In 1998, the core of the original team decided to strike out on its own, and Flow Consulting was born.
All of the names mentioned above are on the team. Troy Bourgeois recently joined the team to add strategic sourcing capabilities. Then Jeff Brown joined the team with a strong background in business effectiveness using LeanSigma tools.
Since then, key additions to the team include Jeff Jackson, a Master Black Belt from Nokia and Larry Loucka whose strong skills in materials and warehouse management have helped strengthen the team.
