Approach Used
Flow Consulting helped the company form a senior cross-functional team, gather data and form a charter to address the lengthy cycle time. Flow then facilitated an intensive four-day kaizen event to rebuild the order-management process and lean it out.
Results
A nearly 50 percent reduction in order-management timeline from 34 days to 15 days was accomplished by retooling the process, creating new standard work and creating clearly defined roles.
